- Emily & Josh - Editorial Wedding Photography at Rudding Park, Yorkshire
Emily and Josh tied the knot at the stunning Rudding Park , a breathtaking Yorkshire wedding venue that truly has it all. Not only is it one of the most elegant settings in the region, but it also boasts a world-class spa (which I can personally vouch for — I’ve been several times, and it’s incredible!). As a wedding venue, though, Rudding Park is simply exceptional, with timeless architecture, beautiful grounds, and that perfect balance of luxury and warmth. I was so excited for Emily and Josh’s big day, especially knowing that Emily had chosen some of the UK’s top hair and makeup artists. It makes such a difference — not only in how the bride feels but also in how the images look. When you work with amazing suppliers, it elevates the entire experience. Sometimes investing that little bit more really shows in the final photographs — especially if you love that editorial wedding photography feel that captures elegance and emotion in equal measure. Despite being absolutely stunning, Emily was actually quite nervous in front of the camera, with no previous experience. But she was such a dream to photograph! The bridal prep room was a little hectic (as they so often are), so her makeup artist — Enya Doherty — suggested we move to a quieter space she’d spotted nearby. It turned out to be the perfect call! The light in that room was just beautiful, creating the ideal setting for soft, natural portraits. It became the backdrop for some of my favourite images — Emily getting her veil placed, her bridesmaids’ first looks, and a truly emotional moment with her dad. The ceremony itself was heartfelt and full of joy. They were blessed with the most incredible late-September weather, and even their dog joined them for the occasion — though he adorably slept through the entire ceremony! After the drinks reception, we slipped away for a short 20-minute session of couple portraits. The golden sunlight streaming through the trees was magical, and it allowed me to capture that modern, light-filled editorial wedding photography look that feels both effortless and refined. I worked mostly with natural light throughout the day, only bringing out my flash later in the evening for a few atmospheric nighttime shots after the speeches and first dance. It was one of those rare, perfect days — a combination of a beautiful Yorkshire wedding venue , an incredible team of suppliers, and a couple who were just completely in love. Emily and Josh’s Rudding Park wedding was such a joy to capture, and a perfect example of how timeless editorial wedding photography can tell the story of a day with authenticity and style.
